After all, a delectable meal shared with good friends and loved ones is nourishing for the body and spirit. Beyond the beautiful presentation on the plate, our setting in the acclaimed city of Charleston, South Carolina adds to the meal. As the premier assisted living community on the Peninsula, we tailor our dining options to delight the palates of our residents. In today’s blog, we’re spotlighting the culinary service offered for our residents and Founders Club members, memory care residents and those who are with us for their rehabilitation needs.
Lowcountry Inspired Menus
What comes to mind when asked about the flavors of the Lowcountry? Perhaps a warm bowl of She Crab soup topped with Orange roe, our famous Shrimp Pie, Fried Green Tomatoes, Roasted Oysters or Crab Rice, to name a few. It’s no surprise our region attracts visitors and culinary experts from around the globe. You may have read about Holy City cuisine on the pages of Bon Appétit or Travel + Leisure, or seen famous Charleston dishes reinvented on Top Chef, Food Network and more. Our culinary team draws inspiration from the Lowcountry, including in-season fruits, vegetables and fresh seafood, while effortlessly accommodating a range of dietary needs.
Hampton Grille
Hampton Grille is open for three meals per day; breakfast service takes place from 7:30 am – 9:00 am, lunch is available from 11:30 am – 1 pm, and dinner is served from 5:30 pm – 7 pm. Assisted Living residents enjoy their meals in the restaurant each day or may request room service for a small fee.
The culinary team refreshes the menu daily, ensuring the community is always satisfied with an array of fresh, local flavors. Example entrees include Fresh Atlantic Salmon baked, dressed with roasted tomatoes and basil, accompanied by a balsamic glaze, and Tender Cuts of Pork Stewed in a Creamy Mushroom Sauce. Daily sides also vary, such as our Caribbean Vegetable Blend, Steamed Asparagus, and Orzo Pilaf with Parsley. There’s always room for dessert, whether decadent or on the lighter side—think rich chocolate ice cream or a fresh fruit cup.
For those who welcome the familiar, our “Always Available” menu ensures you can count on your favorite dishes being available. Our Chef Salad, Chicken Salad Wrap, and Turkey with Cheddar on Sourdough have quickly become resident go-to’s.
Private Dining Room
Residents and Founders Club members look forward to curated menus in our private dining room, where birthday celebrations, wine dinners and family nights add to the community environment.
Memory Care Dining Room
Those in memory care have a dedicated dining area designed for socializing and soaking in the meal preparation and final touches, which happen in real-time for their enjoyment. Thanks to a custom induction cooktop, our team is able to pull off cooking demonstrations and themed breakfasts right in front of residents. As a result, the dining experience is stimulating to the senses, and something residents look forward to in their day.
Rehabilitation Dining Room
We have a dedicated dining room for those with us for their short-term therapy and nursing needs. The culinary team thoughtfully designs the menu to accommodate a range of speciality diets within our rehabilitation community. The service is made even sweeter thanks to panoramic views of the Charleston skyline in a bright and lovely setting.
